PERCY TREYVAUD MEMORIAL PARK
City of Stonnington
November 2017 - April 2018

Percy Treyvaud Memorial Park, located in Malvern East is a hub of outdoor sport and leisure for the municipality of the City of Stonnington. The park is a much loved and frequented open space, used for formal and informal sports and leisure by local residents and tenants.

The previous turf wicket at Percy Treyvaud was not fit for purpose, had deteriorated in condition and was becoming increasingly difficult to prepare for play.  It was also identified to be significantly raised from the outfield surrounds during the initial site investigations. With the condition of the pitch being sub-standard and its performance and safety an increasing concern for main tenant East Malvern Tooronga Cricket Club, the City of Stonnington engaged Endeavour Turf Professionals (ETP Turf) to design and develop a specification and then project manage the new turf wicket construction at Percy Treyvaud Memorial Park.

The experienced design team at ETP Turf prepared the technical specification and design drawings for this contemporary new turf wicket whilst our knowledgeable agronomists and consultants closely managed and monitored the construction project. These works included the initial site investigations and preliminary works through to reconstruction and the establishment phase and the final handover of a new quality and fit for purpose natural turf wicket back to the local community.

The project scope included stripping, reshaping and reconstructing the new turf wicket. The new wicket was laser graded and rolled in layers to create a smooth and consolidated surface. A new irrigation system was installed and repositioned to fit the new wicket infrastructure and then turfed with washed Santa Ana Couch. New turf was also installed around the newly reshaped surrounds of the wicket.
