*The following are not eligible (please note that final determination of eligibility will be at the discretion of the Promoters): Those that work for a commercial turf company, family members of those employed in the turf management industry; staff employed by golf clubs, sports clubs, councils, education providers and the like who are not involved in the provision or maintenance of turf surfaces (eg: administration, catering, cleaners, building contractors).

Are you looking for an economical way to manage your Poa annua and want to be a part of a FREE trial?

Poa annua management on golf greens is one of the most problematic issues that Turf Managers face from a playing surface perspective.
Numerous chemicals are now available in the market but none of them yet have effectively achieved 100% control of this troublesome weed.
The planned introduction of Nominee (bispyribac sodium) will be a step in the right direction but as they have already found in the USA it is far from the “silver bullet”.

Rather than go down the expensive pathway of chemical applications and the complications associated with this ETP-Turf have been developing a simple but novel and new approach.
By means of better managing phosphorous levels in your soils the end result is that winter grass (Poa annua) is in time out competed by more desirable bentgrass (Agrostis spp).
This is not simply achieved by reducing overall phosphorous inputs but instead, by better managing overall phosphorous availability it favours the grasses you want at the expense of those you don’t!

This simple but effective approach negates to some extent the requirement for expensive chemical inputs although it is by no means a substitute for them and works best in association with sensible management practices.

ETP-Turf are now looking for a limited amount of clubs interested in trial testing this new control to determine its efficiency as a means for Poa annua control & management.
This innovative approach offers a low cost, easy to apply alternative to expensive and often ineffective chemical control options on the market
It also supports the ETP-Turf’s philosophy of stretching turf budgets by giving the best value for money solutions for the professional Turf Manager.

We currently have a great deal (saving hundreds on the branded range) on the turf registered equivalent, Plant Growth Regulator "Clipless®" which can help you with the following applications:

Growth Regulation

The recommended use rates are designed to give approximately a 20 to 50% reduction in clippings over a 2 to 6 week period.

Poa annua Management

Different grasses vary in their sensitivity to Clipless®. Since Poa annua is more sensitive to Clipless® than Bent Grass, Clipless® can be used to reduce the competitiveness of Poa annua in Bent Grass golf greens. Clipless® can be integrated into existing Poa annua control programs. Low rates of Clipless® (that provide growth suppression of Poa annua, but not Bent Grass) applied during peak growth periods may enable a slow transition in the golf green sward composition away from Poa annua and towards a higher percentage of Bent Grass.

Couch Overseeding

An application of Clipless® to couch will enhance the establishment of cool season turf grasses. Clipless® is foliarly absorbed, so germination and seedling growth are not affected. Apply Clipless® before verticutting, scalping, spiking or other similar operations to couch. Apply Clipless® 1 to 5 days before seeding.
